Campaign Finance Laws
Political contributions are governed by campaign finance laws. The Campaign makes its best efforts to ensure that all contributions made on the Website are in accordance with these laws. Nonetheless, you have final responsibility for ensuring your own compliance.
For example: the Campaign will not accept donations larger than $3,300 from any individual donor. However, the Campaign does not track users' contributions through other avenues (e.g. fundraisers, events, etc.). Therefore you (and not the Campaign) are responsible for ensuring that your total contributions through these different avenues do not exceed your contribution limits. If you are in a position to make these kinds of large contributions, please be careful and don't give these campaigns' accountants any more headaches than they already have.
Tax Laws
Donations to political campaigns are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. It is your responsibility to report your donations accurately as required and to pay your taxes. We recommend consulting your tax adviser or tax preparer if you have any questions.
Permissions and Reuse
You are free to copy, distribute and display this content and to make derivative works, provided that

Refund policy
The Campaign will do everything we can within reason to accommodate requests for refunds for reasons such as input error, such as when a contributor accidentally donates twice, or enters the wrong donation amount. The Campaign will not consider refunds for other reasons such as a change in political or personal opinion or the cancellation of an event. The Campaign reserves the right to refuse a refund request for these or other reasons.
All refund requests for input error must be submitted within 30 days of the contribution, and are subject to the availability of the Campaign's funds.
The Campaign is subject to federal campaign finance laws, and as such it may not accept contributions from any of the following prohibited sources:
- Corporations, including nonprofit corporations
- Labor organizations
- Federal government contractors
- Foreign nationals
- Contributions in the name of another
The Campaign will use its reasonable best efforts to identify contributions that might fall under a prohibited source, and if so identified, will refund the contribution.
Federal campaign finance laws also limit the amount that can be donated to the Campaign by individuals in any election cycle to $3,300, or to $6,600 by a couple. A federal multi-candidate political action committee may contribute up to $5,000 to the Campaign. Any contribution in excess of these limits will be refunded.
Any legal contribution is the property of the Campaign once received, and the donor has no rights to any refund of a legal contribution.
The Campaign may, at its sole discretion, elect to refund any legal contribution from any donor.
Use of Contributions
Your contributions contain no restrictions as to the manner in which the Campaign may use them.
